Is the camera equiped with a Noise Reduction function?
Yes, the α700 has both Long Exposure noise reduction and High ISO noise reduction. Long Exposure noise reduction is activated when the shutter speed is one second or slower. Noise reduction processing is performed for the duration of the time that the shutter has been open. While the noise reduction is being performed, “Processing…” appears on the LCD monitor. You cannot take the next picture until the process is over. You can disable this function. Note: Noise reduction cannot be applied during continuous advance or continuous bracket shooting. High ISO noise reduction is automatically activated when the ISO rating is set to 1600 or above to lower the noise. You can select a level from “High”, “Normal”, and “Low”. With firmware update 4 it is possible to turn off High ISO noise reduction. Note: In the case of “High”, the continuous advance shooting rate will be about 3.5 frames per second.
