Is the Budget Template a mandatory form?

No, the Budget Template is not a mandatory form. It simply has been provided as a tool to assist P.O.’s and sponsors to apply the new Standard Eligible Costs Listing. The declarations that form the first page of the Budget Template are required however. So while the first page must be used, the remainder is not mandatory. Any agreements that were not in negotiation or approval at the time of the implementation of the new cost categories are subject to the new rules. That is, any new proposals received January 1, 2006 or later will be required to be developed adhering to both the budget structure as set out in the template, and the Standard Eligible Costs Listing. Please note that projects entered in the CSGC on and after January 1, 2006 will automatically be entered into the CSGC using the new cost category structure. This may require that the Service Canada representative and the applicant modify the cost categories and discuss additional cost items that are on the standard eligible c
