Is the bridge to the Island open for traffic?
Yes! It was only closed to traffic in the hours immediately after Katrina, while the Island was accessed by the Town officials. In the days after Katrina , only residents were allowed onto the Island while water & electricity were restored. The bridge did not have any damage and the areas of the causeway that did have erosion have been repaired since shortly after Katrina.
