Is the Breath Test machine (the Intoxilyzer) accurate?

0

The current machine used in the State of Minnesota Police is the Intoxilyzer 5000. The way the machine works is by reading the amount and type of light that passes through what is called a sample chamber. The type of light passing through the chamber is affected by the amount of alcohol in the air of the chamber. The machine itself will accurately read the amount of alcohol in the sample chamber by using a filter wheel to sort the different wave lengths.
