Is the bike path to Goodland a good thing?
Bud Kornse rides his bike in Goodland twice a day, rain or shine. Perpetuity. The perpetuity of a good life in a good land. Continually, eternally, incessantly, forever, always, constantly. The perpetuity of a great life. How can that be? Is it true? Our individual definitions of ‘great life’ contribute to arguments and not understanding one another. We get hurt or sore or mad. Name-calling might be involved. People are on different avenues, have different priorities and are on different wavelengths. Talking and listening to fellow Goodlanders throughout the week reminded me of priorities. We each have different points of interest and concern. And that determines our outlook and opinions. Different outlooks and opinions are good. I wish we knew an easier way to listen and respond to those differences. That is where democracy helps. The majority rules. That doesn’t make everyone happy.
