Biblical creation, if taken literally, is not compatible with the Big Bang. But if biblical creation is taken as a metaphor (as it was intended), then both explain the creation of the universe. In fact, if you assume the Big Bang occured and then read Genesis, it is almost exactly as written (if you allow that a “day” in Genesis is not a specific measured time and not a day long).
