Is the best way to make sure all data is erased to change hard disk?
The problem with hard drives is : unless you destroy it, you cant really get rid off all the data. Even if you reformat it, the data can be restored. Even if you overwrite it several times, there are tools that will get it back. However, if you are selling your hard drive, a couple of reformat and some shredding will erase everything and make it impossible for a standard/advanced user to retrieve. Unless if the buyer is specialized in retrieving data from hard drives and have forensic tools, he wont be able to do sh*it about it. Hope my post cleared some things for you.
