Is the beach private, clean and suitable for swimming?
Yes, yes and yes. You will see people swimming on the North Fork from around mid-June through October. In the USA, a private beach means that you own the land to the point where it is covered by water at high tide. Other people may walk the beach at low tide so far as the high water mark, but not beyond that, and they may not use a private floating dock. In reality, few take advantage of our beach as it is not readily accessible from the road, doesn’t lead anywhere and is close to a large and very beautiful public beach. The most you are likely to see is an occasional kayaker pulling onto our beach for a 5 minute breather. Only once have we seen a local fisherman trying to catch his dinner there, an activity that many of our guests also enjoy. This is not a small beach, it comes with its own peninsular, which you can expect to have to yourself for the vast majority of your time there, if not the whole time.
