Is the Barony of Bonwicke a religious group?
No. Neither the S.C.A. nor the Barony of Bonwicke is in any way affiliated with any particular religious group. Individual members practice their own personal beliefs according to their own choices, and it is strongly recommended that all members be respectful of the beliefs of others. You might be surprised however at the number of people that will ask this question of you once you start playing. Perhaps this is a product of social paranoia, but not every group of people dressed unusually or acting differently happen to be a cult. We are a historical recreation society, and a social club, and thus our activities are a hobby, not a reality. Pretending or “playing” at a religion would be ill-advised for obvious reasons, and would almost certainly offend or alienate various groups of people, which isn’t our idea of a good time.
