Is the Barony of Bonwicke a fantasy role playing group?
No. While you are sure to find a very high number of individuals amongst our membership who enjoy fantasy games and films, the S.C.A. is a historical recreation group. What this means is that while we recognize the place of mythology and folklore in the middle ages, we don’t actually portray wizards or fairies or other supernatural creatures ourselves. Of equal importance is the fact that you will also not find our members portraying actual historical figures either, so just as you will not bump into Merlin or Mordred at one of our gatherings, you will likewise not meet up with William Wallace. The reason for this is tied to our aim to portray medieval personages who could have existed alongside the historical figures rather than actually being one.
