Is the Banner-Herald newsroom library open to the public?

A. Our library is available on an appointment basis only. Call 208-2248 or e-mail librarian2@onlineathens.com for an appointment. We can search our computer database back to 1993 for news, to 1997 for obituaries and police blotter, and to October 1998 for births. Searching our microfilm or bound volume archives costs $30/half-hour, and copies of articles are $1 after the first one. The Athens Regional Library has a complete set of microfilm dating back to the early 1900s.
