Is the BA in Journalism, Film and Media a vocational degree?

No, we will not teach you how to operate a camera or become a television presenter. Ours is primarily an academic degree focusing upon conceptual and analytical approaches to the media, innovatively taught and assessed. It offers only a small number of practice-based modules, in Year Three. In our experience a wide range of employers are very interested in students with good results from such a degree, pursued in a high quality university. The School’s postgraduate Diploma courses offer high quality, specialised training for journalistic careers.
