The application process is competitive in both rounds. Success in the first round does not guarantee you will be successful in the second round. Demand for our funds means that we cannot support every application even if they meet our criteria. As a rough guide, we expect to make full awards to around four out of five applicants at the second round. So, passing the first round does mean you have a good chance of receiving a grant at the second round.

Yes. We receive numerous applications for a limited number of slots. We attempt to place as many applicants as possible, but acceptance is determined by the community needs we support.

If you submit your application in full by the deadline, and take time to outline your reasons for wishing to study abroad, chances are good your application will be approved. However, students are encouraged to investigate study abroad options in both fall and spring, and be prepared for the possibility that they will not receive their first choice of semester or program.
