Is the album Charles Manson recorded on the Beach Boys label commercially available?
Well, I’m not sure if he did record an album on the Beach Boy’s label (in fact not even sure that they had their own label as such – they were with Capitol in the 60s and Reprise in the 70s) but …. Manson did live with Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys for a while in 1968 or so. Manson played some songs for Dennis’s record producer friend (who’s name I forget EDIT – Terry Melcher) but didn’t get a deal. (Incidentally one theory has it that a possible motive for the subsequent family murders was revenge on ‘show business’ for this rejection). He did however give one of his songs (‘Cease to Exist’) to Dennis who ‘reworked’ it (well just nicked it really) as ‘Never learn not to love’ which came out on The Beach Boys’ 1969 LP ’20/20′. After the 1969 murders Manson put out an album ‘Lie’ to help pay for his court costs and this is the one you might be thinking of? This contains his version of ‘Cease to Exist’ and I can be got from Amazon. Also I think that you could easily find the tracks v
