Is the airport increasing its size, services, and operations?
Gradually. The area surrounding the airport has grown tremendously over the last 20 years, while the airport has not. No runways have been extended since the 1970s. The airport Master Plan of 1990 recommended this runway extension to better serve the airports users. All communities surrounding the airport were active participants in the 1990 Master Plan, and all agreed to the need for the runway extension. This current proposed runway extension is just the result of the 1990 planning process.
