Is the African traditional religion evil?
There is nothing evil about our traditional religion, the practitioners have only been misunderstood and I think there is a need here, to go back to the beginning and recall facts. Take for instance, in the state of Bahia, in Brazil, (as you can equally see here from our African Heritage Museum) the Africans there in Brazil, have taken our traditional religion there and modernised it. You can see the pictures at the museum. About four or five years ago, a team came from there to request for people here, who would help them promote our religion over there. Now, you’re talking about cultural and religious assault. It is so devastating that these practitioners are virtually being wiped out. They don’t receive people into their fold any more. Indeed in some groups, you find just a handful of old people remaining, unlike in the case of Christians and Muslims, whose ranks are growing in leaps and bounds, by the day, as a result of their intense evangelism and opening up of Koranic and Bible
