Is the ACMCS “grandfathering” certain credentials?

0

The ACMCS is no longer “grandfathering” any credentials from any other professional coding organizations. The Physician Coding Specialist (PCS) and Facility Coding Specialist (FCS) designations are the credentials to be earned through ACMCS. These designations recognize a commitment to ongoing education, proven coding experience, and ethical behavior. We are currently seeking to obtain approval for our Physician Coding Specialist (PCS) certification exam through the national accreditation agency for exam certification. The ACMCS Physician Coding Specialist (PCS) certification examination is currently being beta tested across the country and should be ready for release in early 2009.
