Is the 3:00 witching hour true, or am i just tripping?
3:00 is the not the witching hour. It is actually 12:00. In the middle ages people believed that there were witches and that they were demons who had come to do harm. So often times when someone was believed to be a witch they were burned at 12:00 and people believed that this returned their spirit to the demonic place they came from. But about what you have experienced. You could have been having a lucid dream experience where you may feel in your sleep you have awakened when in fact you have not. Everything seems real because your conscious mind in awake. You may feel that you are falling or your body goes numb when this happens. It is induced by sleeping on your back as this causes us to have might mares. But there nay be a deeper meaning to your dream someone who has died might be trying to contact you or there is something in life you have let pass you by, an opportunity or a gesture made by someone. Try looking into dream interpretation.
For most people, their hearts slow down and their blood pressure drops between midnight and 3 a.m. What this means is your brain is likely short on oxygen at 3:00 a.m., so all kinds of weird perceptions can happen. I’ve had hallucinations (visual, aural, and odors), as well as impaired judgment, motor control, etc. My guess is you weren’t as awake as you thought you were, and had some kind of hallucination/dream. Your mind tried to make sense out of what it thought it perceived, trying to fill in the blanks. Any movies you’ve seen recently or books you’ve read might influence what details your mind uses to fill in the blanks.
