It was already in the house. It’s a great continuation of the courtyard, and the fun feeling of it seems appropriate for New Orleans in all its tropical humidity. One day I showed her this embroidered silk that has all the colors of the tassels in it, and I said, wouldn’t this be gorgeous for a duvet? To me it’s like laying in a bed of flowers, and that led me to the headboard fabric, which is reminiscent of a garden lattice. Did the duvet seem perhaps too feminine for the husband?
