Is Texas Holdem a game of luck or skill?
It’s actually both. You do not have control over the cards you are dealt, but you have complete control over the way you play them. Even though poker is a game of chance, there is a very real element of skill, which can be exploited and used to allow you to win money from the other players at the table. If you can play your hands better than your opponent can play their hands, you will be winning money from them over the long run. This is how professional poker players make a living.
