Is Tea Tree ok to use as a bird perch?

0

Tea Tree isn’t on listings because most listings are US. It is on some US listing as being toxic. Strip the branches of their leaves & use them. The branches (Melaleuca) are safe for your bird & if you look around you will see parrots & cockatoo’s regularly use them. Tea Tree oil is NOT safe for birds at all. Some people think it is ok to use as a cleaner but it is highly toxic. Use the gum branches as well. Scrub them with mild soapy water, rinse well & set in the sun to dry. You can also use grevillea branches, flowers & leaves & bottlebrush, branches flowers & leaves. I don’t strip any of my branches of the leaves. I do inspect them & remove any leaves that don’t look fresh & clean, including gum.
