, it is not. The mineral is inert on the skin. It is very finely divided (powdered) in this usage, and other than the possibility that it might clog pores slightly or temporarily, it is harmless. The application of talc provides a smooth surface over which cloth (clothing) can slide, and this reduces chafing, which more than offsets any possibility that it might inhibit the “openness” of the skin.
