The new world’s seven wonders are yet be anounced. It is due for anouncement in July 2007. Taj Mahal is in the shortlisted nominations. A non-profit organization is Switzerland is in the process of naming a new set of Seven Wonders of the World. The original list of some 200 possibilities has been narrowed down to just 21 prospects. The church in Istanbul is among a number of Asian sites that made the cut. Also on the list: The Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia The Great Wall of China The Kyomizu Temple in Kyoto, Japan The Rome city of Petra, carved out of stone in modern Jordan The Taj Mahal in India. The vote on the final seven is scheduled for July, 2007. Wonders of the Ancient World Six of the original Seven Wonders are gone.
