IS Taj Mahal an ancient Hindu Temple?
No. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughals, who were Muslim. It was built by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum (tomb) for his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal. Supposedly, he had planned to build a matching one for himself in black marble, but in his later years his son rebelled and had him confined to his palace. When he died, he was interred in a simple coffin next to his wife in the Taj Mahal.
