Is system security at risk when EMP is functioning or enabled?

0

There are multiple measures of security with the EMP. An eight digit password can be set in the Intel E8000 Server Board’s BIOS setup. This password is stored in NVRAM on board and cannot be accessed. After three attempts to enter the incorrect password the EMP Console utility the user is temporarily locked out. Also, any incorrect password entry is logged to the SEL which can be viewed by authorized personnel. Additionally, with “Restricted Access” enabled in the server’s BIOS setup, the server cannot be remotely reset or powered off. Should the EMP password be forgotten it can be cleared with the “Clear CMOS” jumper on the Server Board. BEWARE: Clearing CMOS clears all BIOS setup configuration entries. Please ensure you have a record of your server’s BIOS configuration before clearing CMOS.
