The “Tri-Synthetic” term has been recently invented and promoted by Mobil on their ILSAC GF-3 ready Mobil 1 formula for gasoline engines. Their claim is that the Motor Oil is produced from THREE different synthetic base oils: • Polyalphaolefin (PAO) • Synthetic Ester • Alkylated Aromatic Most synthetic Motor Oils on the market are formulated from at least two base stocks (PAO & Esters) and sometimes also with more than one “grade” of PAO, and they all use Petroleum “carrier” oil for the additive package before they are blended into the Basestock. SynLube Lube-4-Life is the only TOTALLY synthetic oil. The base stocks used in blending SynLube Lube-4-Life are all pure synthetics that are “chemically constructed”. Actually there are FIVE different synthetic base oils used in the final formulation of the SynLube Lube-4-Life motor oils. There is no petroleum oil used as a “carrier” for additives.
