No. Sylvester is owned and operated by the University of Miami. However, University of Miami physicians work closely with Jackson Memorial Hospital through a unique partnership. The Miami-Dade County Public Health Trust owns and operates Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the nation’s busiest public hospitals. Jackson also serves as the teaching hospital for the private University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.
