Is Switzerland a schengen state?
Switzerland has become the 25th member country of the Schengen zone on December 12, 2008. Tourist visa issued by Switzerland are now valid for the entire Schengen zone and Schengen visa also authorize to travel to Switzerland. The United Kingdom will not join the Schengen zone since the country has arrangements with a lot of Commonwealth countries for visa free entry.
