Is Swine flu = Spanish flu which killed 50 million people in 1918?
No, it is nowhere near such a pandemic (which killed 100 million actually), and also bear in mind that we now have far better vaccine and control protocols than existed 90 years ago, plus a much healthier population, generally speaking. This could kill several thousands of people (thousands die annually from ordinary flu), as did the SARS epidemic. But again, the world health authorities gained much experience from that, and that should help with this outbreak. .
