Sweet crude is crude with lower sulphur. The opposite is sour. Nothing to do with sugar! Crude consists of a mixture of hydrocarbons and it can catch fire easily. When was crude discovered? How was it used when there were no vehicles? For lamps? Crude was discovered in the latter part of the 18th century. Before that, animal power was the prime mover. Lamps were lit with edible oils. What is Indian basket? Or, is it bucket? Basket means a mix of all crudes, that is, imported and indigenous, of different varieties. Does an oil well look like the open well in my backyard, or a bore well? It is like a bore well. Only, a bit more sophisticated. Can it happen that I strike oil when digging for water? In which case, can I keep the oil? Possible, if one is lucky. And it has happened like that many a time. Keeping oil depends on the Government.
