During the game Brees sustained a shoulder dislocation. A decision was made that Brees will undergo surgery early this week for treatment of the shoulder dislocation. Early surgical treatment is more often being considered, especially in young, active, sports participants. These patients are at especially high risk of developing a problem with recurrent shoulder dislocations if they do not have surgery.
