Is Summer Launch an orientation program? Do students need to attend orientation?
No, Summer Launch isn’t orientation. It is a bridge program that helps students transition from high school to college. SOAR (Spartan Orientation Advising Registration) is the mandatory orientation program for all incoming freshman. During SOAR students register for classes and experience UNCG prior to the start of classes in August. Students who are enrolled in Summer Launch must attend one of the early scheduled orientations (sessions 1-5) prior to Summer Launch. Go to SOAR Reservation to register for an orientation session in early June.
