Is straight marriage based on sex and not love?
Unfortunately, that’s correct. Most of us want it to be love, and in fact we pride ourselves on being that free country where you don’t have to marry anybody because your parent’s set you up with them… but that’s a lie. There are so many young couples that marry because she got pregnant, or to make mom and dad happy, or for money… the truth of the matter is that love nowadays has little to do with it. Even opponents of gay marriage admit it, because their fight against us is based on the fact that we shouldn’t be having sex together, not because we can’t love each other. It’s pathetic, but it’s the truth. (Not that there aren’t couples that marry for love, but it would seem that in most of those religious or anti-gay communities the opposite happens.) Nice thinking aloud.
