Is Stockton’s MSW Program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education?
Stockton is a new MSW program. It is in the process of obtaining full accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. This is a process that takes 4 years. We have completed 2 years of this process and expect to receive full accreditation in October 2012. At this time, we have achieved Candidacy, a very important step. Students who graduate from an MSW program that is in Candidacy are entitled to take the NJ licensure examination and become licensed social workers. They are also able to join the main professional social work association, the National Association of Social Workers. Once full accreditation is granted, it will be retroactive and include all students who have graduated since the inception of the program.
