Is stephen hawkings dead?
At some point the answer to this question will be ‘yes’, as it will be for all of us, but at this writing he remains alive although he is hospitalized. In another sense, however, Stephen Hawking has entered our collective consciousness as something more than his physical self. In such a context, he may die physically, and yet live on in our minds. Many great thinkers in history have transcended their life spans in this manner, and Dr. Hawking seems like he will as well.
