WRONG! Stella Adler, Strasberg, Chekhov, Meisner, etc. are ALL relevant to and are STILL used in film acting! They are all ways of becoming present in a scene. Adler is great in helping you REALLY use your imagination. Strasberg if learned and done right can be useful in helping you become better emotionally connected to a scene. Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Mark Ruffalo, and Benicio del Toro were students of Adler and are/were great FILM actors. Al Pacino, James Dean, Mickey Rourke, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman use Strasberg and are/were GREAT FILM actors. Stella Adler and Strasberg themselves had successful FILM careers as well. So to say that they’re outdated is a total fallacy and whomever told you that needs to be shot! Of the schools that you’ve mentioned, I’ve studied with Doug Warhit.
