Is Stallone too old to be doing Rambo movies?
Rambo served Stallone, well in the 80’s. They weren’t exactly intellectual type movies, but they were very popular. I must admit, that I enjoyed the Rambo movies. Keep in mind that I am also a fan of Chuck Norris movies. (nuff said! ) The last Rambo, Rambo III was released in 1988; 20 years ago. Stallone was 41. He is now 61 and it’s time to set aside and leave the younger man’s job, to the younger man. If he thinks the Rambo series is worth carrying on,(debatable) then he should do what they did with Superman and Batman; bring in a new, younger guy, to play the lead. I don’t think that he thinks of it as a classical series, at all. I think it’s just Stallone trying to prove that he’s still got it! It’s time for him to stay behind the camera, instead of in front it. He does fine as a director and has the potential to go on making a big name for himself, but as a macho man, he runs the risk of becoming a caricature of himself.
