Is spending $200 million to make a cutting-edge movie like Avatar worth the pricetag?
When the world economic system is in melt down mode and people the world over are struggling with crippling debts on mortgages, car loans and student loans to ask a question about a form of entertainment is quite perverse, but then so too is the sum involved. $200 million is a staggering amount of money in anyone’s terms. $200 million could wipe the slate clean for many of the third world’s nations, give them a fresh start and reduce famine, malnutrition, combat the spread of dieases such as malaria, Aids and typhoid but no the ‘advanced’ nations of the world choose to spend this whopping great amount of money on something as meaningless as a movie.
