Is “special kitty” a good type of cat food?
Special Kitty is basically the kitty litter of cat food. It’s cheap for a reason– I would suggest asking your vet for a reccomendation, however odds are they’ll suggest Science Diet or something of the sort that they often sell in their clinics. This can be pricey, especially from the vet. We’ve always fed our pets Eukanuba, or Iams, which is a line of Eukanuba. Our dogs were on the show circuit, and this was what every pet owner had on hand, dogs and cats. Wet food is not always better for your pet, in fact, if you’ve been feeding your cat dry food, odds are the switch to rich, wet food will upset their digestive system, giving them loose stools. Dry food is not only easier on their stomachs, but also aids in tartar control on your cats teeth, as they dont have kitty toothbrushes, they rely on friction from chewing their food to clean their teeth (same as a dog with a bone).
