Is soybean meal suitable as a conditioner for horses?
Soybean meal will help put a healthy shine on a horse’s coat. It is also beneficial as an aid in putting weight on thin horses. It is simple to feed: top dress grain with a handful of soybean meal at every feeding. If you would rather be more specific and measure, I would go with about 1/2 cup per feeding. As with any feed supplement, begin by only adding a small amount and increasing the amount daily over a week until you build up to the 1/2 cup per feeding. As soybean is rich in oils, brushing your horse regularly will spread the oil on the coat, giving your horse a super healthy gleam!
