Is “Soundstream” a good car audio brand?
Soundstream was among the elite a few years ago, but they have recently been acquired by a company that is typically more toward the entry level. However, Soundstream is their flagship brand, and the higher priced Soundstream equipment is very good. Like most consumer items — you get what you pay for. BTW – I hate those lists like the one posted above. 2 or 3 of those company’s don’t even exist anymore, and several have been bought out and have changed directions entirely, and it doesn’t even consider the fact that they all offer varying levels of quality depending on the line. Those lists are almost meaningless IMO. For instance: A/D/S/ (All) – Don’t even think they’re viable at the moment. Adire Audio (All) – Gone Alpine (All) – Type E and S are far from high end. AudioControl (All) – All they do is sound processing Avionixx (All) – Were hot for a year or so – very quiet recently Directed (All) – On the way out.
