Is softball field maintenance really that tough?
Let me start of by saying that it takes lots of practice and hard, endless dedication grooming a softball field for play. Well, not really. It wouldn’t seem to me that brooming the base lines, towing a drag mat from an ATC, or painting a few lines would make or break my day as a field maintenance guy. I can think of many other things that would ruin my afternoon if not done efficiently and correct the first time. Well wait a minute… no I can’t. Thats because I don’t do what these guys do. How can I possibly know what these guys do when all I do is sit , eat peanuts, cheer, and enjoy a softball game. While I’m watching a game drowning myself in a chess match of two teams, I completely disregard any field issues. There isn’t anything on the field that I have a question about. Why? – Because I take for granted any and all field issues concerning the game of play. I know that now matter what, this game would not go on if their was an issue. I’m not talking about the hard core stuff like fo
