Soft iron’s pretty easy to work,it has a self lubricating compound so cuts well,if a little dusty.But,it’s also rarely used these days,it’s very brittle,not good in tension.I’m curious as to what it is,are you sure it’s iron and not steel.I can’t even remember the last time I came across it,cast iron,yes,wrought iron as well,but soft iron?It’s been a long time.
