SocketTools 6.0 is not compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows Me. The minimum operating system required is Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4) installed. Support for Windows 98 and Windows Me was discontinued in July, 2006 and the operating system no longer receives security updates or technical support from Microsoft. The current version of SocketTools will return an error if you attempt to initialize the security subsystem on an unsupported version of Windows.
