Is Social Media returning to the old behaviours of Advertising?

0

Advertising is a “talk at” strategy. Social media provided high hopes for dialog, engagement and feedback. However, as it evolves, the early stages suggest that it is becoming a “talk at” strategy too. Emerging tools allow us one button blasts of our message across a range of social sites. But where we can place our thoughts and ideas easily we have little transparency (inclination?) to know if anyone has questioned or commented. In fact with Ping, and other similar tools, one could argue that it would be near impossible to manage all of your conversations with the same care as a personal 1:1 encounter. Is this good, bad or just is. I appreciate your thoughts.

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
