Is smoking allowed in the residence halls?
• Smoking is not permitted inside any residence hall facility at any time. In fact, in an attempt to promote healthy choices, the University has adopted a new smoking policy that allows for smoking only in 18 designated areas on campus. Seven of these designated areas are in the vicinity of the residence halls. Please refer to the University Smoking Policy for more details.
The University issued a ban on smoking in all undergraduate and graduate residence hall apartments and facilities. Accordingly, smoking is prohibited in all School of Law residence halls (apartments, common areas, terraces, balconies, etc.). Any resident or guest wishing to smoke must exit the building to do so in the designated smoking area.
