Is SMART911 information available if a call comes in on a PSAP’s seven digit line?
Depending on the configuration of a PSAP’s inbound lines and call routing, SMART911 information may be automatically displayed on a call taker’s workstation even if the call comes in on a seven digit administrative/business line. If a call over a seven digit line does not appear to have SMART911 data, the call taker can quickly perform a search of the SMART911 database by entering one of the subscriber’s registered phone numbers into the SMART911 software. If there is a match with the caller’s phone number and the subscriber has given permission in his/her registration options, then the SMART911 data associated with the caller’s phone number will be automatically displayed to the call taker.
