Is sin merely a transgression against man?

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God. In other words, sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God. Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them: – by participating directly and voluntarily in them; – by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them; – by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so; – by protecting evil-doers. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect1chpt1art8.htm With love in Christ.

No, I don’t think so. I think you can sin against God. And, that when you sin against another person, I think that by association that is also sinning against God.

Well, not really. Technically you can sin by merely not giving God proper credit. If God sticks his hand out of a cloud and smashes someone into the ground with his fist, you better believe that was him and not some other weird force of nature, or you could be right there in the ground with him.
