Is Shock Video of Teenage Texting and Driving the Answer?
It’s not new or any great surprise–text messaging while driving leads to car accidents and can lead to the death of your family member or a complete stranger. What is new and quite surprising is a shocking video created by a police department in the UK. It depicts a teenage girl texting while driving followed by a terrible crash with gruesome results for her friends in her car and the family whose car she hit. Teen drivers are the most at risk for texting while driving. But, before sending the video to all teenage drivers you know, please note that it is graphic and very disturbing. Further, before forwarding it to a teenager, be aware that many youth risk prevention specialists question the effectiveness of videos that try to use shock value to change teen behavior.
