Is SHELL Helix oil any good?

Read the label on the oil. It will tell you EXACTLY what cars the oil was designed to be used in, and what EXACT specifications it fulfills. Personally, I would NOT use it. American Shell oils have NEVER been all that good based on the rest of the industry. Shell is based in Europe, somewhere. Only use oils that meet the requirements of YOUR specific car. Modern oils are tailor made to suit. Bulk,”quicky lube” oils should NEVER be used, unless you are certain that it meets YOUR car’s needs. I only use Mobil One, ELF or Amzoil. Pennzoil that meets your manufacturer’s specs are good too. READ YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL (fluid recommendations) to determine what specifications are required by YOUR car’s maker. E.g., if Shell Helix label says, “meets or exceeds GM specification so-and-so,” or “designed for use in Chrysler needing specification so-and-so” then USE IT. If you read the label on a container of “Royal Purple”, it doesn’t meet ANYBODIES spec’s!! Good Luck!!!
